Dimraeth walkthrough: the first main quests
The opening main quests run in a straight line: clear the Lost Caverns and kill the droop, finish Learning to Build for Faustas in the Sanctum, take the waygate to Earlwood, then do The Time Tardy Scout for Alaric: search three spots in the farmlands, find the elf scout in the Wildwood, win a wolf fight, and report back. Rahaner’s training quest right after hands you free gathering tools.

Quest names below match what the quest tracker and the achievement list show, so you can match them to your own screen. Mudtek has not published a walkthrough; the steps follow what Larry Puss, The Gutter Goblin, Into.the.Wicked and Mixkx did on the Early Access build. If a character’s name in your dialogue box looks different, check the Dimraeth NPCs page.
- Lost Caverns tutorial, the droop
- Learning to Build for Faustas, in the Sanctum
- Sanctum Waygate to Earlwood
- The Time Tardy Scout for Alaric
- Report back Alaric, then Rahaner
1. The Lost Caverns and the droop
- Walk the tutorial cave
Larry Puss calls everything up to the cave exit linear. Campfires on the way refill your potions and respawn enemies; in The Gutter Goblin’s run the rest message reads “You’ve rested. Monsters reappear.” The movement and block prompts are covered on Dimraeth controls.
- Kill the monstrous droop
Larry Puss: “You’ll fight a slime boss at the end”. The achievement for it, Blob Slayer, calls it the monstrous droop. In The Gutter Goblin’s fight it jumps, fires a ranged attack, does a double combo and brings small adds. Mixkx found some attacks did no damage, saw a second phase with adds, and tested the parry on its attacks: “Okay, it’s parryable.” Other early bosses are on Dimraeth bosses.
2. Learning to Build (Faustas, in the Sanctum)
Outside the cave a projection of the wizard Faustas is waiting. A player on the Steam forum typed out part of the scene, including why you are here:
“I tried to bring you to my tower. I had just broken a ritual of Sylbos’s, and his backlash caught my spell. I aimed for home. The spell chose the Sanctum.”
Faustas, as transcribed by a player. Posted in the Steam thread Steam discussion: AI Dialogue

Exhaust his dialogue and the quest starts. Mixkx reads the quest text as “Build your first dwelling and learn the basics of cooking”. The Sanctum is your base for the rest of the game, so where you put things here is not throwaway; see the Dimraeth Sanctum before you clear every last object.
- Objective: dismantle the camp
Larry Puss: “He will ask you to dismantle the wreckage around this area.” Open build mode (The Gutter Goblin reads the prompt as “B for build mode.”), hover a piece and, in Mixkx’s words, “So click dismantle with spacebar.”
- Objective: select the tent and place it
Mixkx finds the tent in the build menu under Furniture. A developer has said a tent placed with a campfire can trap you in a small area on later loads; the workaround is on Dimraeth bugs and fixes.
- Objective: build a campfire and cook a droop core
Into.the.Wicked and Mixkx both read the objective as “Build a campfire and cook a droop core.” The result is a Roasted droop core. The next tip on screen is about eating, and Into.the.Wicked reads the warning that comes with it: “If you don’t, your maximum health, concentration, and stamina will decrease.” Food, water and the rest of the recipes are on Dimraeth crafting and cooking.
- Objective: return to Faustas
Mixkx reads the next objective as “Return to Foustas.” (auto-caption spelling; the store page writes Faustas). He now remembers the way out: “There is a way gate that way. It should lead away from the sanctum.” Head north. Completing the quest, Larry Puss says, “unlocks the blueprints for your workbench, alchemy station, and storage chest”. You will not have the planks and nails for them yet.
3. The Sanctum Waygate to Earlwood
- Talk to Faustas at the gate
Larry Puss’s step: “talk to Fosters again near the Sanctum Waygate. This will give you the ability to teleport to Earlwood”. In Into.the.Wicked’s recording Faustas asks you to go on to Earlwood and later “come to my tower beyond the wildwood”. From here on you can teleport back to the Sanctum whenever you like; Mixkx’s tip reads “fast travel to any way gates you have discovered”.
- Earlwood: the guild hall
The new main quest is The Time Tardy Scout, and its first objective, as the trailer frame above shows, is to find and speak to Alaric in the Guild Hall. On the way in, The Gutter Goblin meets the blacksmith Manga and an enchanter whose name the captions give as Tasine Feather; Into.the.Wicked’s captions have Tamson Fairweather. Larry Puss says to talk to Alaric, then Rahaner, and pick up quest board work before leaving; the beginner guide has a creator’s warning about accepting board quests too early, on the Dimraeth beginner guide.
- Alaric: a free spell and a missing scout
Larry Puss: “Alleric will also give you a new spell depending on your class, completely free for you to learn and use.” (auto-caption spelling). The Gutter Goblin hears it offered as a spare spellbook. Then the job: a player on the forum quoted Alaric’s line “One of my scouts hasn’t check in. He’s careless with time, so I’m not panicking.” In Into.the.Wicked’s version of the same talk Alaric also says “The road to F’s tower is cut off. The bridge is broken.” How to learn the spellbook is on Dimraeth spells.
4. The Time Tardy Scout

- Objective: search three spots in the farmlands
The Gutter Goblin reads it as “Search the first spot first, then the second spot, then the third spot.” Go north out of Earlwood into the farmlands. Watch for goblins that blow up; The Gutter Goblin found out the hard way: “Oh, he explodes. Good to know.” The regions are placed on the Dimraeth map.
- What each spot tells you
Each search ends in a note. The Gutter Goblin reads one as “No trace of the scout. only fields consumed by goblin hunger.” and another as “No trace of the scout, just a way gate.” In Into.the.Wicked’s run the waygate spot is a high lookout over the farmlands, and it also raises max encumbrance. Activate that waygate. The Gutter Goblin also fights a large goblin near a mill in this area.
- Objective: search the Wildwood for the lost scout
Into.the.Wicked’s tracker after the third spot: “Search the wild wood for the lost scout.” Larry Puss keeps heading north through the crossroads toward the next waygate and meets the elf on the way. The name is uncertain: captions give “an elf named El Dorian”, and other recordings read it as Eldderon or Eldorian. In The Gutter Goblin’s recording the scout warns “The Fang aren’t normal wolves. They’re faster and smarter” and heads back to the village.
- Beat the wolf at the waygate
At the waygate, Larry Puss says “you’ll encounter a relatively easy wolf fight”. The Gutter Goblin kills it and gets the waygate straight after: “Oh, he is the wolf. We got him. And a fast travel point.”
- Teleport to the guild hall and report to Alaric
Alaric has the scout’s report and a warning for what comes next, in The Gutter Goblin’s captions: “Goblin activity is … rising in the deep forest and there is signs of corruption.” Completing the quest earns the achievement Help a Lost Elf (Complete Time Tardy Scout Quest).
5. Rahaner’s tools
Talk to Rahaner in the guild hall next. Larry Puss says Rahaner should give you the gathering tools for free, and adds that “you may need to allocate one point into your attributes and one point into your skill tree to complete the training quest”. SwoleBenji names what you get: “he gives you the a wood cutting axe and pickaxe and gloves”, and the task that comes with them: “he wants five wood and five stone”. Equip them in the gathering slots. If you were about to spend stone and pinewood crafting those tools at the workbench, wait for this instead. Spending the points is explained on Dimraeth leveling.
What comes next
Walkthroughs for the later main quests are not documented yet. Steam’s achievements name them. The list below keeps the order of the achievement page, which is not a confirmed story order.
| Main quest | Achievement for completing it |
|---|---|
| Village in Crisis | Village Hero |
| The Corrupted Treant | Timber! |
| The Broken Bridge | River Crosser |
| Bread and Blood | Blood and Bread |
| Hoard King's Fall | Death of a Tyrant |
| Opening the Throne Path | Corrupted Exploration |
| Crown of Thorns | Heavy is the Crown |
Quest names from Dimraeth global achievement stats (Steam Community) The achievement list also names a quest called The First Steps (A New Start); the recordings do not show which part of the opening carries that name. Alaric’s broken bridge and the quest called The Broken Bridge share a name, but Mudtek has not said they are the same thing.
Another quest, Maintaining the Defenses, had a turn-in bug. Mudtek’s hotfix lists “Fixes Maintaining the Defenses quest not able to turn in”, and in the same post “Fixes side quests to not be abandonable”. Other open issues are on Dimraeth bugs and fixes, and the share of players holding each quest achievement is on Dimraeth achievements.
