Is Dimraeth on PS5, Xbox or Switch 2?
Not today: Dimraeth sells on Steam for Windows only. PS5 and Xbox: Mudtek has not named either. Switch 2: a developer says the team wants it, but consoles do not take Early Access games, so it has to wait for the full release. What you can do now is play on a Steam Deck or a Windows PC with your PS5 or Xbox controller.
This is the console part of the full Dimraeth platforms board, which also covers Mac, Linux and cloud streaming.

Console by console
| Platform | Status | What was said | By whom | What would change it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 | Nothing said | Mudtek has not said. The only console answer is about Switch 2, and it says consoles do not take Early Access games. | Not named by anyone at Mudtek. | A PlayStation Store page or a Mudtek announcement naming PS5. |
| Xbox | Nothing said | Mudtek has not said. The only console answer is about Switch 2, and it says consoles do not take Early Access games. | Not named by anyone at Mudtek. | A Microsoft Store page or a Mudtek announcement naming Xbox. |
| Switch 2 | After full release | “the consoles don't do early access releases and so we'll have to wait until full release.” | Viakaros, a developer, answering a player on the Steam forum. | A console announcement from Mudtek, most likely around the full release. |
| Steam Deck | Works, not rated | “Yes you can play on the Steamdeck, PC with controller or Handheld PCs.” | Shindaru, a developer, in the pinned Early Access FAQ. | A Verified or Playable badge on the store page. |
The PC release itself is Windows only: the store’s system requirements list Windows 10 as the minimum and nothing else. What the game needs from that PC is on Dimraeth system requirements, and what it costs on Dimraeth price.
Why consoles wait for the full release
The only console answer from a developer came in a thread titled with a player’s question about a Switch release:
“We definitely want to - part of getting the steam deck working was knowing it would work on the switch 2 since it has similar specs, but the consoles don’t do early access releases and so we’ll have to wait until full release.”
Read it closely. The console it names is Switch 2, and the link it draws is hardware: the Deck work was done knowing the Switch 2 has similar specs. The reason for waiting, “the consoles don’t do early access releases”, is phrased about consoles in general, so it would hold for PS5 and Xbox as well. But the reply does not mention either of them, and it is not a PS5 or Xbox plan. Anything console-shaped sits behind the full release, which has no date; where Early Access stands is on the Dimraeth release date page and what comes next on the Dimraeth roadmap.
Playing with a PS5 or Xbox controller on PC today
The pinned FAQ answers the controller question in one line, from Shindaru, a developer: “Yes you can play on the Steamdeck, PC with controller or Handheld PCs.” Players in the threads below use PS5 and Xbox pads on the Windows version. Button layouts and the settings are on Dimraeth controls and controller. The Steam forum threads below are the controller problems reported since launch, with every answer that came back.
- PlayStation pad shows Xbox buttons (A, Y)
A player using a PlayStation 4 controller asked for PlayStation button icons, and a developer replied with a workaround and a planned setting:
“If you turn off Steam Input API it should work - but I am trying to get a patch out right now that will have a settings option where you can manually override the glyphs to xbox or playstation regardless of what the game detects.”
So the fix today is to turn Steam Input off for Dimraeth. The manual glyph setting has not appeared in Mudtek’s Steam announcements yet. One Steam reviewer wrote “I picked PS layout and some menu options still list Xbox.”
- PS5 pad: remapped confirm loops a dialogue
A PC player who remapped confirm to the X button on a PS5 controller got stuck in a repeating conversation with the blue floating wizard outside the cave, and escaped it by clicking the dialogue option with the mouse. Wizardmanguy, a forum moderator, answered: “This is a known issue, and I believe currently being examined.” The report ties the loop to the remap, so until a fix lands keep a mouse in reach, or leave confirm where it was.
- PS5 pad: D-pad closes the inventory
In a thread on bugs with a PS5 controller, one player found that on the D-pad “hitting LEFT causes the window to close and sometimes, accidentally use a "charge" of whatever tool/item I have slotted onto the D-Pad in the UI.” Up can do the same. The analog stick moves around the inventory safely. The same player reached the container window at the workbench by holding Triangle, and moved items across by double-pressing and holding L2 or R2. Mudtek has not replied in that thread yet.
- Xbox pad: A button stops dodging
A player’s A button went unresponsive for dodging and for interacting with waypoints on the map screen, while working in menus and conversations. Wizardmanguy, the forum moderator, replied: “I’ll pass it along to the Tech Lead to see if there’s anything to be done!” The player got around it by opening the waystone menu to fast travel until the button came back. No fix is posted.
- Attacks lock onto one direction
A player on a GameSir Xbox-style controller found combos sticking to one direction. A developer pointed to a setting: “There is an option in settings if you want to attack in the direction you are facing rather than the direction of the monster it auto-targeted.”
- Game thinks a controller is plugged in when it is not
A developer explained how the game reads input: “We don’t use the Steam Input API and our game listens to any input that has a horizontal and vertical axis.” His advice in that thread was to unplug unusual USB devices (in an earlier playtest an auto clicker caused it) and restart the game. The player who started the thread still had the problem after unplugging a 3D mouse.
Other controller bugs, with the fixes that exist, are collected on Dimraeth bugs and fixes.
Steam Deck, handheld PCs and GeForce Now
Steam Deck and Windows handhelds
The FAQ covers the Deck and handheld PCs. One Steam reviewer signs off “Playing on ROG Xbox Ally X”. The Deck has no Steam compatibility rating yet. Settings, frame rate and the docked-input problem are on Dimraeth on Steam Deck.
GeForce Now
Asked for GeForce Now support, Wizardmanguy, a forum moderator rather than a developer, relayed the team’s position. It gives no date and no commitment.
“This has been mentioned and recommended, and the devs agree!”
“There just wasn’t enough time to get it out the door for EA, but it is something they’re looking to do.”
What would change this page
- A PlayStation Store page for Dimraeth, or a Mudtek announcement naming PS5.
- A Microsoft Store page, or a Mudtek announcement naming Xbox.
- A Switch 2 announcement from Mudtek, most likely around the full release.
- A patch note adding the manual Xbox/PlayStation button-icon setting.
- Dimraeth appearing in the GeForce Now library, or Mudtek saying so itself.
