Dimraeth lost child: where he is and how A First Adventure plays out

The lost child is inside the yellow search circle the quest draws on the Earlwood map tab; hovering places inside that circle shows Rivercaller’s Grove and the Pool of Remembrance. He stands at the edge of a pond next to a large wooden chest; in the clip of the quest, the player beats a Dryad there before talking to him. Answer him, send him home, and the quest moves on to Return to Befr.

Where the lost child is

The objective sits under the quest title A First Adventure and reads Find the lost child in the forest. Open the map and stay on the Earlwood tab (the other two tabs are Lost Caverns and Sanctum). The quest does not pin a single point: it draws a large yellow circle, and ChonkyTeemo’s clip, recorded on build eDev 0.107, shows two place names when the cursor sweeps through it, Rivercaller’s Grove and the Pool of Remembrance. Where the regions sit relative to each other is on the Dimraeth map and regions page.

Inside the circle, look for water. In both clips the boy stands on a grassy bank at the water’s edge with a big wooden chest a few steps up the bank; ChonkyTeemo’s frame also shows a stream below, where a boulder lies split in two. A player on r/dimraeth, answering someone who could not find him, gave a route from memory without naming the waypoint:

its the north forest waypoint and then you go to the right and there is a path south in the trees. Keep going right and will be there.

The same player adds You’ll find the child if you progress the Dryad quest line. If the objective is not in your tracker yet, keep going with the story on the Dimraeth walkthrough.

The quest, step by step

  1. Track A First Adventure

The tracker reads A First Adventure with the line Find the lost child in the forest.

  2. Search the yellow circle on the Earlwood map

Head for the Rivercaller’s Grove and Pool of Remembrance area. A waypoint you have unlocked nearby saves the walk; how Waygates work is on the Dimraeth map.

  3. Fight the Dryad near him

In GLACIAL GAMING’s clip the player fights near the boy and the XP counter climbs before the talk opens, and the boy’s first line praises you for taking down a Dryad. If Dryads give you trouble, the notes on Dimraeth wolves, dryads and elites cover what players say about them.

  4. Talk to the Lost Boy

His portrait is labelled Lost Boy, with Child oF Earlwood beneath it, spelled that way on screen. The talk opens with The bright-eyed child is bursting with excitement as you approach. Three answer prompts follow; they are laid out below.

  5. Send him home, then Leave

The tracker changes to Return to Befr as soon as the talk closes. A few seconds later loot pick-ups show, among them +1 Apple and +1 Recipe Oil Flask; the clip does not show whether those are a reward or items lying nearby.

  6. Return to Befr

GLACIAL GAMING’s clip ends here, and ChonkyTeemo’s shorter one ends before the conversation, so the hand-in and its reward are not shown. Where Befr stands is on Dimraeth NPCs.

The Lost Boy dialogue: every choice on screen

GLACIAL GAMING’s 58-second clip, recorded on build eDev 0.107.7689, shows the whole conversation. At each prompt two answers are offered. The column marked Picked is the one the player clicked; the other answer is visible on screen, but what it leads to is not shown in any capture, so it is listed without an outcome.

Prompt 1

Lost Boy: Wow! A real adventurer. You took down that Dryad no problem. You were amazing!

Picked in the clip

You must be the child everyone is making a fuss about.

Also offered, outcome not shown

Aren’t there plenty of Adventurers in the village?

He answers They wouldn’t let me come out and fight. They don’t think I can. and adds I want to be an adventurer like you!

Prompt 2

Lost Boy: I want to be an adventurer like you!

Picked in the clip

Admirable. Train with Rahaner first.

Also offered, outcome not shown

You got captured by a Dryad, not the best adventurer are you?

He answers You are right... and then Everyone is so worried right now. I just wanted to help.

Prompt 3

Lost Boy: Everyone is so worried right now. I just wanted to help.

Picked in the clip

I understand, kid. One day you will be able to, but now it is time to go home.

Also offered, outcome not shown

Give it up, kid. This is not the right life for you.

The narration reads The young boy’s eyes widen, dreams of the future unfolding in his imagination. He agrees to go back home, the only option left is Leave, and the quest tracker switches to Return to Befr.

Train with Rahaner first. / You got captured by a Dryad, not the best adventurer are you?), and the portrait labelled Lost Boy, Child oF Earlwood on the right. Frame: GLACIAL GAMING's gameplay clip on YouTube.

The second prompt’s picked answer names Rahaner, the trainer in the guild hall; what he teaches is on the NPC page. Watch the full clip here:

Why the quest matters: Befr

The tracker line that follows the rescue, Return to Befr, is the on-screen link between this quest and Befr, the NPC whose shop sells an attribute reset once it is upgraded. Mudtek has not described the rest of that chain. A player guide on r/dimraeth puts it this way: I believe the way to unlock Befr in your Sanctum is by rescuing a lost child. That player also writes Befr at Level 2 in your Sanctum lets you respec Talent points. The rescue itself is on screen and ends at Return to Befr; Befr joining your Sanctum afterwards is that player’s belief.
