Dimraeth and AI: the dialogue question

The Steam store page once said some Dimraeth voice performances were generated with AI tools; that note is gone now. Whether the written dialogue involved AI is a separate question, and there is no official answer to it yet. Players claim developers answered it on Discord, but those claims disagree.

The old store disclosure

Before Early Access, the store page carried this line:

“Certain voice performances are generated using AI tools and are thoughtfully curated by our team to ensure quality and consistency.”

The notice later disappeared from the store page. The forum thread about it was locked but left up:

“Going to lock this thread for now as it’s from the change around half a year ago and there are a lot of automated flags coming up on people’s comments as it’s understandably something everyone feels strongly about, but will leave it up to preserve the context.”

It mentions a change around half a year earlier without saying what happened to the voices.

The store page now

The voice note is gone, and nothing replaces it: the current page carries no AI disclosure. Its feature list and Early Access notes are summarised on what is in Dimraeth Early Access.

Three say the voices were removed; one says a paid actor voices them now. They cannot all be right.

The dialogue question on the Steam forum

After launch the question moved from voices to the written text, asking whether it was made with AI and why that was not disclosed. These Steam threads ask it, still without a developer reply:

Claims about Discord statements

Some players say the question was answered on the official Discord. Those messages are not public, so treat both versions as hearsay.

One player says a developer described the dialogue as AI-assisted on top of what the author writes, counting it as tooling use of AI, months ago.

Other players say developers stated on Discord that no AI assets were used or are in the game now. One of them still thinks the dialogue reads as AI-written; another removed part of their review after seeing it.
