Dimraeth patch notes: what each hotfix changed
Mudtek has posted two hotfix lists since Early Access opened, and both are short bullet lists on the Steam news feed. Here is every line of both in the developer’s own words, what each one means in practice, and the page of this guide that it touches. The newest list is first. The most useful change for anyone who hosts a world is the one about chests.
The newest hotfix
This list ends with “and many more”, so it is not the whole set of changes. What follows is only what Mudtek chose to name.
| Mudtek’s line | What it means | Covered here |
|---|---|---|
| “Fixes chests set to be private for local interaction as well as workbench pooled inventory” | Private now covers something Mudtek calls “local interaction”, as well as workbenches drawing on the chest. The note does not define the term and does not mention LockBuildtoOwner. | Co-op: private chests |
| “Default for lobbies will be friends only instead of public” | A world you host starts out open to friends rather than to anyone. A default is only a starting value; the note does not say where to change it. | Co-op: who can join |
| “Training Dummies limited to 5x and optimized to prevent griefing” | Mudtek does not define what the 5x limit counts. | Builds: test on a dummy |
| “Fixes some quests not being finishable” | No quest is named. If one of yours still will not finish after the update, it is a fresh report worth sending. | Stuck quests, quest by quest |
| “Fixes some achievements not able to be completed” | No achievement is named either. | Achievements and how rare they are |
| “Fixes players dying at the same time as Aelwynor unable to complete the quest” | A quest-completion fix tied to Aelwynor. | Bosses |
| “Partially fixes vanishing strike making player teleport to the ether” | Mudtek calls the fix partial and does not say whether it is the black-screen report on the bugs page. | Bugs: the Vanishing Strike soft-lock |
| “Fixes players who tab out of poker table losing all their gold” | Nothing else on this guide is about the poker table, so this line stands alone here. | Nothing else here |
| “Fixes some audio SFX problems” | No sound effect is named. | Nothing else here |
| “Fixes a couple water spots on the map that looked distorted” | A visual fix; no place is named. | Nothing else here |
The first hotfix
The first public hotfix came shortly after launch and included two quest-related fixes. It is the update several pages here mean when they say to let Steam update the game.

| Mudtek’s line | What it means | Covered here |
|---|---|---|
| “Fixes Maintaining the Defenses quest not able to turn in” | The turn-in that would not finish at launch. Updating the game is the fix; the bugs page shows the step that was stuck. | Bugs: Maintaining the Defenses |
| “Fixes side quests to not be abandonable” | Side quests can no longer be abandoned. | Stuck quests |
| “Fixes storage chests to have their own tab” | Storage chests now have their own build-menu tab. | Sanctum: where the storage chest is |
| “Fixes large servers not able to talk to NPC anymore” | A fix for NPC dialogue on large servers. | Co-op and multiplayer |
| “Fixes plague shards being heard globally” | A sound fix: plague shards should no longer be heard globally. | Damage types |
After you update
- Let Steam finish the update, then start the game
The playtesters beta branch, where Mudtek trialled a hotfix before it shipped, is on the bugs page.
- If you host, check your chests before you trust the fix
Players lost the contents of chests in public worlds, and the newest list contains Mudtek’s chest-related fix. Until you have watched a private chest hold against a friend in your own world, keep the world setting from the co-op page on and the good gear out of shared chests.
- A quest still will not finish
Look it up by name on the stuck-quests page. The lists above do not name any quest apart from Maintaining the Defenses, so a quest that is not listed there is not confirmed fixed.
- Something else broke
Developers answer in a few places, listed on the community page. Longer-term changes, such as the races and classes still to come, are on the roadmap.
Mudtek’s bigger announcements, from the demo to the launch post, are on the roadmap, and every post quoted here is listed on the sources page.
