Dimraeth demo
There is no Dimraeth demo right now. Mudtek ran a free demo on Steam, including during Next Fest, then took it down ahead of Early Access because it no longer matched the game being built, and said a return would mean rebuilding it. Mudtek has not offered another way to try the game before buying.

Why the demo was taken down
The explanation came in the same post that announced the Early Access date:
“There has been a wide divergence between the features in the demo and what will actually be in Early Access that extends from even options before you load into your world.”

The post set a closing day, described the takedown as being for at least the near future, and added that “if we go for re-releasing the demo it would likely need to be rebuilt quite a bit from how it is currently.” On the day itself Mudtek posted a short thank-you that began “It’s finally closing day for the demo”. No new demo has been announced since. The Early Access date that post also announced, with unlock times, is on the Dimraeth release date page.

PulledBug fixes, clearer and more responsive combat, and general polish, shipped in small patches from player feedback. The playtest summary came from the game director, Phillip: “There are 2 races and 2 classes available in this playtest.” During Next Fest, Mudtek wrote that “Over the past several weeks we have released a series of focused patches informed by player feedback”. Every announcement from that stretch is listed on the Dimraeth roadmap.
How the demo differs from Early Access
If you played the demo, most of what you remember has changed. Mudtek’s estimate during Next Fest was that Early Access would hold “around 4x what you currently see in the demo.”
| What | Demo | Early Access |
|---|---|---|
| Races | Human, Minotaur | Human, Minotaur, Elf |
| Classes | Brawler, Mage | Brawler, Mage, Shadow |
| Regions | The farmlands, the Wildwood, Earlwood Village | Adds the Goblin Caves and an expanded Wildwood |
| Level cap | Different from Early Access | 25 for Act I |
| Pets, difficulty levels | Not in the demo announcement | Nine pets and selectable difficulty |
| Languages besides English | Portuguese and Chinese | Adds German, Korean, Spanish, Russian and Japanese |
The full Early Access feature list, including the skill tree overhaul, is on what is in Dimraeth Early Access. The new race and class are covered on Dimraeth races and Dimraeth classes.
One thing the demo did leave behind is data. Asked whether everything can be done solo, a developer answered “Yes our data from the demo showed that a majority of the players played solo.” Playing with others is covered on Dimraeth co-op and multiplayer.
Players asking for a demo now
On launch day a player opened a Steam thread asking Mudtek for a trial version to decide whether to buy. The one reply was from another player, pointing at Steam’s refund window: “Buy it. You got 2 hrs for return”. In the earlier price thread, a player who called the price the top of their budget wrote that “dropping a demo beforehand would make this a much easier decision.” No developer has replied to either.
Without a demo, the closest substitutes are the creator videos recorded on the Early Access build and the Steam reviews. What reviewers praise and criticise, counted, is on Dimraeth reviews.
